World Renowned farrier and blacksmith Jim Burton has been producing tools for himself and the trade for decades.

Despite the relentless rain it was a successful competition for Jim at the prestigious Royal Show. Incorporating the National Championships, the Royal shoe attracted the majority of the UK's best Farriers. Jim triumphed in the Heavy Horse competition with top points all the way through preparation to the finished foot.

During a tense few days of competition Jim was rarely out of the top five in all competitions and was rewarded with a fourth overall in the National Championships.

During the last 25 years Jim has won many local, national and international competitions but the “holy grail” of competitions, the World Championship, had eluded him. This was rectified in the summer of 2005 when, after a week of fierce competition he came back from the Calgary Stampede, Canada with the title.
